I sold the grinder we were using for what i paid plus a bit more for what i had spent on plates, knives and sausage stuffing extras, so i broke even, better that in the hole. Now i just hope the one we got to replace it works as well as we expect.

egg getters

I always thought it was interesting to see how many eggs our chicken lay and why. We have been finding rather large holes in the chicken wire, so maybe raccoon or fox was getting the eggs. Maybe it is the amount of feed or lack there of, that determines the number of eggs, who knows. We let the children get the eggs, maybe they break more on some days than others.....Yesterday was one of those days, Louis has/had the job of gathering the eggs, he was doing the chore yesterday and was caught in the woods with an old frying pan making some scrambled eggs on a fake fire....who knew!
